Senior Pastor
Alec is originally from Jacksonville, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida, got a Masters in Divinity from Princeton Seminary, and a Doctorate of Ministry from Reformed Seminary. Alec served 6 years at First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge, Louisiana as an Associate Pastor and a young punk. He has served as the senior pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church of Mobile, Alabama since 2013.
He is married to a girl he met in the sixth grade, Arden (though they didn’t get married in the sixth grade). They have three perfectly behaved children- Caleb, Elizabeth Gray, and Lydia. Their dog Roux is the favorite in the family.
Alec loves golf, the Word of God, and his home gym, though not in that order. A low score, a good dinner, a few friends and the rare, Gator win make him happy.
Lanier serves as the Executive Pastor of Covenant, where he came on staff as a pastor in 2016. Together with his wife, Leslie, they graduated from Furman University. They have 3 children, Camille, Lanier Jr., & Annie.
In 2009, Lanier received a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. He was a pastor in Birmingham, AL at Cross Creek Church (PCA) and then served for 5 years with RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) at the University of South Alabama. His primary responsibilities are to shepherd the staff of Covenant, oversee our Small Group Ministries, plan Sunday worship, and labor in pastoral care. He enjoys tinkering on bikes and cars, perfecting a cup of coffee, and doing pretty much anything outside with his family.
Associate Pastor of Youth & Families
Sonny Walker is from a Mississippi family who grew up in Cartersville, GA. He has been married to Morgan for 11 years, and they have two daughters, Margaret and Karis. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Animal Sciences and Reformed Theological Seminary with a M.A. in Biblical Studies and Masters of Divinity. For the last 16 years, he has served on staff with 4 churches and a para-church ministry in various capacities of student ministries including youth, college students, graduate students, and family ministry.
With free time, he enjoys golf, pickleball, games of all sorts, reading, and fellowship around a fire with good friends.
Director of Children’s Ministry
Whitney has been in Education for the last 14 years. She is a native Mobilian and a graduate of St. Paul’s School. Whitney holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education.
Whitney is married to Ham and they have four children: Hamilton, Lila, Thomas, and Julia. Above all, she knows Christ’s love for her, and translates her years of education into teaching, training, and discipling our children at Covenant with the hope of the Gospel!
Director of Women’s Ministry
Kitty has been teaching the Bible for decades. She has impacted women by leading them to Christ and discipling them in the faith. Her maturity in Christ, love for the Gospel, and passion for Jesus allow her to minister to whomever she meets.
Kitty is married to Jay and they have six grown children and many grandchildren.
Director of Music
Whitney has served as the music director since 2015. She graduated from the University of Mobile with a MBA in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Worship Leadership/Music Business in May 2019.
Whitney is happily married to Nikola (Nik) and has a son, Luka. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and being outdoors.
Facilities Manager
Homer was born and raised here in Mobile. He worked in the marine industry for more than 20 years and another 8 to 10 years in the Predictive Maintenance industry.
Homer thrives assisting others and enjoys being in the background in service.
He has a son, daughter-in-law, and three grandsons who live in Florida. His wife Margaret and he have two Tibetan Spaniels that he enjoys showing pictures of to anyone foolish enough to ask.
Accountant/Business Administrator
Bobby was born in Mobile and grew up in Thomasville, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration, having majored in accounting. Prior to joining Covenant, he worked as a CPA in public accounting for 46 years.
Bobby has three daughters and enjoys hunting, fishing, being outdoors.
Director of Communications
Arden has served as the Director of Communications since 2019. Arden has a background in communications including a degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida (Go Gators!).
She is mom to Caleb, Elizabeth Gray, and Lydia and is married to Alec. She enjoys cooking, sewing, and lifting weights.
Jena has many years of experience as a wedding coordinator and before as an administrative assistant. She has a passion for organization and serving others with excellence.
Jena has been married to her husband Jamie for 36 years and is from Hurley, Mississippi. She enjoys spending time with her close-knit family – especially her nieces and nephews. In her free time, she also enjoys traveling and shopping.
Youth Intern
Lexi grew up in the heart of Mobile where she graduated from St. Paul’s School. She currently attends the University of Mobile and is seeking a degree in communications, focusing on advertising and public relations.
In her free time she enjoys hanging out with friends, playing with her dogs (Delta and Lucy), playing her instruments, traveling, and being outdoors.
