Alec has been the Senior Pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church since 2013. Prior to serving at Covenant, Alec was an associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Baton Rouge. He is married to Arden and they have three children, Caleb, Elizabeth Gray, and Lydia.
Alec grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida. He received a Master of Divinity Degree from Princeton Seminary and recently completed his Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary.
Alec is passionate about his garage, his family, and Jesus (but not in that order)
Lanier serves as the Executive Pastor of Covenant, where he came on staff as a pastor in 2016. Together with his wife, Leslie, they graduated from Furman University. They have 3 children, Camille, Lanier Jr., & Annie.
In 2009, Lanier received a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. He was a pastor in Birmingham, AL at Cross Creek Church (PCA) and then served for 5 years with RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) at the University of South Alabama. His primary responsibilities are to shepherd the staff of Covenant, oversee our Small Group Ministries, plan Sunday worship, and labor in pastoral care. He enjoys tinkering on bikes and cars, perfecting a cup of coffee, and doing pretty much anything outside with his family.
Sonny Walker is from a Mississippi family who grew up in Cartersville, GA. He has been married to Morgan for 11 years, and they have two daughters, Margaret and Karis. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Animal Sciences and Reformed Theological Seminary with a M.A. in Biblical Studies and Masters of Divinity. For the last 16 years, he has served on staff with 4 churches and a para-church ministry in various capacities of student ministries including youth, college students, graduate students, and family ministry. With free time, he enjoys golf, pickleball, games of all sorts, reading, and fellowship around a fire with good friends.
Director of Children’s Ministry and Pastoral Assistant
Marty has served as the Children’s Director and Pastoral Assistant since 2015. She met her husband, Bubba, at Auburn University where she graduated with a Public Relations/Journalism degree. She is mom to Holden, Franny and Camille.
Her favorite past time is being a wife and mom. Organization, cooking, working in her yard and running are also pretty important to her.
Her love of kids and Jesus make her job at Covenant a joy and a blessing.
Director of Women’s Ministry
Kitty has been teaching the Bible for decades. She has impacted women by leading them to Christ and discipling them in the faith. Her maturity in Christ, love for the Gospel, and passion for Jesus allow her to minister to whomever she meets.
Kitty is married to Jay and they have six grown children and many grandchildren.
Director of Music
Whitney has served as the music director since 2015. She graduated from the University of Mobile with a MBA in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Worship Leadership/Music Business in May 2019.
Besides music, Whitney enjoys spending alone time with Jesus, anything to do with music, baby-sitting, traveling, most anything outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
Director of Community Ministries / Facilities Manager
Cameron has a background in refrigeration, apartment, and hospital maintenance. More recently he has worked with local ministries including Light of the Village and Ransom. He is happy to have been led here to serve God and his people.
Cameron likes to get out on the water with one of his kayaks more regularly as well as paddle board (helps with balance as one gets older).
Accountant/Business Administrator
Bobby was born in Mobile and grew up in Thomasville, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration, having majored in accounting. Prior to joining Covenant, he worked as a CPA in public accounting for 46 years.
Bobby has three daughters and enjoys hunting, fishing, being outdoors.
Director of Communications
Arden has served as the Director of Communications since 2019. Arden has a background in communications including a degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida (Go Gators!).
She is mom to Caleb, Elizabeth Gray, and Lydia and is married to Alec. She enjoys cooking, sewing, and lifting weights.
Receptionist
Karen was born in Mobile and graduated from Murphy High School. She has three lovely grown children and five grandchildren. She has had the wonderful experience of being the receptionist at Covenant since July of 2021.
Assistant Director of Children’s Ministry
As a parent and former classroom teacher, Whitney has seen the need of children of all ages to be anchored to truth with their lives built upon a firm foundation. The substance of these things is Christ, gospel-centered discipleship, and being part of a loving community of believers. It is her joy to share the Word of God with the children at Covenant in hopes that they may love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Whitney is married to J.T. and they have two sons, Charlie and James Tyler.
