Rev. Lanier Wood

Executive Pastor

Lanier serves as the Executive Pastor of Covenant, where he came on staff as a Pastor in 2016 after serving 5 years with RUF (Reformed University Fellowship) at South Alabama.  Together with his wife, Leslie, they graduated from Furman University. They still daydream about mountains and the foothills of the Carolinas and whenever they are able they bring their 3 children, Camille, Lanier Jr., & Annie up to the mountains.

In 2009, Lanier received a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. He was a pastor in Birmingham, AL at Cross Creek Church (PCA) before planting RUF at the University of South Alabama. His primary responsibilities are to shepherd the staff of Covenant, oversee our Small Group Ministries, plan Sunday worship, and labor in pastoral care.

Lanier came to faith in Jesus Christ through the love and nurture of his parents. He is so grateful for his Wife and his Family, and when he has time he enjoys tinkering on bikes and cars, perfecting a cup of coffee, and doing pretty much anything outside.
